Reading Comprehension: Conceptual Relationships

This two-page worksheet endeavors to help middle and high school students better understand Reading Comprehension: Conceptual Relationships (such as causality, contradiction, elaboration, and specificity) between words and between sentences.

Students are provided examples of word pairings and the specific conceptual relationship linking each pair. They must then determine the conceptual relationship between more word pairings and then between sentence pairings. Lastly, students will partake in fill-in-the-blank exercises to determine and demonstrate these relationships.
